EADS Anticipates Demand for Space Tourism
Plans to build spaceplanes in production line

According to a BBC article , the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company
(EADS)’s aeronautics division, Astrium
, “has plans for a commercial vehicle to take ticketed passengers above 100km.”
In fact, EADS which makes the Ariane
rocket, says spaceplanes will need to be built on a production line in order to keep up with anticipated demand, which he suggests will come to 10 planes a year.
Robert Laine, chief technical officer (CTO) of EADS, discussed both favorable market research of space tourism, as well as the eventual decrease in the cost of each flight.
Laine also said that space tourism will create cheap access to space. Spaceplanes can also improve life planetside by providing superfast intercontinental flight and increased security.
