has been much in the news of late, as its various contestants are making headway toward the prize. Here is a roundup of recent events:
- Colonel Rick Searfoss, astronaut, has been named chief judge of the X-Prize competition.

, civilian space traveler, has joined the X-Prize Foundation’s board of trustees.
- Armadillo Aerospace has successfully completed its helicopter drop test of their Black Armadillo, taking them closer to spaceflight.
- Starchaser Industries Nova capsule will undergo three test flights, beginning July 21, 2003.
